Built for individual specialties
Portfolio Pathways is built around the GMC’s Specialty Specific Guidance (SSG) for each specialty, not a generic template. Your evidence is mapped to the sections the assessors work from and to the General Professional Capabilities (GPCs) and Capabilities in Practice (CiPs). In surgical specialties, your logbook is counted against the Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) indicative numbers for each index procedure group, separating first-surgeon exposure from total operations and splitting your practice between acute and elective. Critical conditions are tracked against the assessments the specialty requires.
